Composed and recorded in various periods of isolation, lockdown and quarantine, this EP documents the exhilaration of impending freedom and the the bittersweet bewilderment of re-entering the outside world, stepping from the darkness into the fire.

The first and last tracks were written in the UK during the first Covid lockdown. We had a sneaky party and the sheer joy of drunkenly flailing around together to raggatek in the back yard inspired Dizzy Dance.Reflections was an experiment in using the Deluge to sample sounds in my bedroom during a period of self isolation.
Frog Chicken was written during a three week quarantine in China, during which time I was locked in a hotel room and not allowed to even open the door, except to have my temperature or blood taken. I think the desire to burst out the door, drive a fast car, do some skids and probably shoot some baddies is apparent. It's named after one of the meals I was fed.

And then there is Emerging. I made this during lockdown on a Chinese school campus which lasted for over two months. This track expresses the muddled dysphoria and longing to see loved ones that slowly enveloped me during that time and the swell of hopeful anticipation as I was finally allowed out. It was a bizarre and profoundly emotional ordeal and one I was very glad to finally emerge from.

To go freely about one's life is a wonderful thing.
